Past and present projects
Oceanteam has been involved in a wide range of offshore cable, pipeline and umbilical installations, transportation projects and storage systems for a variety of clients in the oil, gas and offshore renewables markets.
Project: Norway cable transport and handling project
Year: 2018
Scope: Contract to supply client a barge with a 5300t turntable spread on deck for cable transport from Norway to the Netherlands. Mobilisation and demobilisation of the barge and the equipment was executed by Oceanteam in cooperation with Blue Offshore. Spooling of the cables in both ports was performed by Oceanteam’s cable handling crew. Project management, engineering, HSES, QA and certification related activities and documentation required to complete client’s scope of work was also Oceanteam’s responsibility.
Project: Rotterdam cable storage and handling project
Year: 2017
Scope: Long-term storage project; Oceanteam in cooperation with Blue Offshore delivered a barge with a 5300t turntable, loading tower and tensioners for cable storage alongside client’s quay. Spooling of the cables was performed by Oceanteam’s cable handling crew. Project management, engineering, HSES, QA and certification related activities and documentation required to complete client’s scope of work was also Oceanteam’s responsibility.
Project: Greece cable transport and handling project
Year: 2017
Scope: Contract to supply client a vessel with an 1100t turntable on deck for cable transport from Greece to Denmark. Mobilisation and demobilisation of the vessel and the equipment was executed by Oceanteam. Spooling of the cables was performed by Oceanteam’s cable handling crew. Project management, engineering, HSES, QA and certification related activities and documentation required to complete client’s scope of work was also Oceanteam’s responsibility.
Project: Cable laying project in North Sea
Year: 2017
Scope: Contract to supply client a 2000t demountable turntable, custom fit, for a cable laying project in the North Sea. The mobilisation and demobilisation of the equipment onto client’s vessel took place at Oceanteam’s own facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands. Oceanteam supplied operators for the complete project.
Project: Velsen cable storage and handling project
Year: 2017
Scope: Long-term storage project; Oceanteam delivered two turntables: one 1100t turntable and one upgraded demountable turntable from 4000t to 5300t, according to the client’s cable specifications. During the length of the contract, Oceanteam will supply its client with port facilities, cable handling and storage of cables at Oceanteam’s own cable storage facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands.
Project: Velsen cable storage and handling

Scope: A long-term contract where Oceanteam will supply client with port facilities, cable handling and storage of cables at Oceanteam’s own cable storage facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands during the length of the contract. The first cables were transferred to a 120t liftable cable basket, designed and engineered by Oceanteam, for storage up to 20 years.

Scope: Second Contract to supply client a 4000t and 2000t onshore turntable system, personnel for cable handling, a workshop and accompanying equipment for a cable storage and splicing project. The turntable and additional equipment were used for storage of cables at Oceanteam’s own cable storage facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands.

Project: South Korea cable transports and handling project
Year: 2016
Scope: Contract to supply client two 2000t demountable turntables for cable transports to Europe and personnel for cable handling. The turntables and additional equipment were used for transport of multiple cables and cable load outs in South Korea and Europe. Mobilization and demobilization of the equipment in Singapore was also executed by Oceanteam.
Project: Zeebrugge cable storage and handling project
Year: 2016
Scope: Contract to supply client a 2500t onshore turntable system, personnel for cable handling and accompanying equipment for a long-term storage project. The turntable and additional equipment were used for storage of cables at Zeebrugge and for cable loadouts. Mobilization and demobilization of the equipment in Zeebrugge was also executed by Oceanteam.
Project: Cable laying project in Germany
Year: 2016-…
Scope: Contract with client for supplying a lay spread for a cable laying project in Germany. The lay spread includes a 4000t and 2000t demountable turntable and four deck tensioners. Oceanteam has provided the equipment custom fit to the client and is operated by Oceanteam’s own operators.
Project: Cable laying project in Mexico
Year: 2015
Scope: Contract to supply client with cable lay spread for laying cable in Mexico. The lay spread consisted of a 10t tensioner, spooling machine, reel, level winder and winch and was operated by Oceanteam’s own operators.
Project: Westermeerwind cable laying project
Year: 2014
Scope: contract to supply client a portal with built in powered quadrant for the Westermeerwind near shore wind farm project. The portal was used in conjunction with 4 separate cable tanks, for which purpose it can be translated from one end of the supply barge to the other.
Project: Gemini Offshore Wind Farm cable storage project
Year: 2014/2015
Scope: Contract to supply client a 3000t demountable onshore turntable system and accompanying equipment for a long-term storage project. The turntable and additional equipment was used for storage of cables at Eemshaven, the Netherlands for the Gemini Offshore Wind Farm. Mobilization and demobilization of the equipment in Eemshaven was also executed by Oceanteam.

Scope: A long-term contract under which Oceanteam will supply its client with port facilities, cable handling and storage of cables at Oceanteam’s own cable storage facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands. The cables were transferred from the vessel into Oceanteam’s cable basket for storage of up to 20 years.
Project: Transport cables South Korea - Qatar
Year: 2014/2015
Scope: Contract to supply client two times a 4000t demountable turntable system and accompanying equipment for a long-term project. The turntables and additional equipment were used for the transportation of cables from client's cable plant in Donghae, South Korea to the project port of Doha, Qatar. To ensure smooth transportation and loading Oceanteam also supplied cable handling crew. Mobilization and demobilization of the equipment in South Korea and Qatar were executed by Oceanteam.
Project: Safaniya oil field cable transport
Year: 2014
Scope: Contract with WIND BV to supply a 1500t demountable turntable system and a 10t tensioner. The turntable and additional equipment were used to transport cables for the Safaniya oil field for McDermott. Mobilization of the equipment onto Client’s vessel was performed by Oceanteam at its facility in Velsen Noord, the Netherlands.

Project: Pipe laying project Brazil
Year: 2014-2015
Scope: Contract to supply client with a 2000t demountable turntable system and loading tower with built-in 15t tensioner. The turntable and the additional equipment were used on client’s vessel for the installation of flexibles, which took place in 2014 and 2015 in Brazil. Oceanteam also supplied operators to ensure smooth operations.

Scope: Contract to supply client a 1250t onshore turntable system, personnel for cable handling and accompanying equipment for a storage project. The turntable and additional equipment were used for storage of cables at Velsen Noord and for cable load outs.
Project: Cable laying project the Netherlands
Year: 2012-2014
Scope: Long-term contract to supply a 1250t demountable turntable mobilized onboard Solstad Offshore ASA’s CSV Normand Flower for offshore renewables operations in the Southern North Sea.
